User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Good content
The book has good information for anyone who wants to get started with email marketing. I would suggest it as a starting point for email marketing information. Keep in mind that this comes from constant contact and so it reads sometimes like a Marketing Brochure. Look into more books to get a broader understanding.

5 Stars “MUST-READ” for Small Businesses and Non-Profits
This is a “must-read” for any small business or non-profit interested in growth. The Constant Contact Guide to Email Marketing is an incredible resource for anyone who wants to use email marketing to connect with customers - and do it effectively. The book is full of practical tips and examples to help you improve your customer relationships. And, if you aren’t using email marketing, this book will inspire you to get started NOW!

5 Stars The Constant Guide to Email Marketing
Very good book. It shows how to avoid the pitfalls of excessive or misdirected email campaings.

2 Stars Doesn’t tell you about wasted time with Constant bugs
The problem is that it won’t tell you about the time you waste trying to debug Constant Contact, since the book was written by their employee.

I spent 4+ hours trying to fix the format of a simple email with their WYSIWYG editor, couldn’t get it to work, and missed my deadline. And I am a very technical operating system internals programmer. The solution was that the tags were missing. If you know what WYSIWYG means, you know I can’t put in any tags - their software has to do it, unless it doesn’t work.

If you don’t know what that means, don’t use it, or you’ll waste a lot of your time.

The concepts of the book aren’t bad, but it doesn’t tell you the failures that will just waste your time.

5 Stars Comprehensive Roadmap to Email Marketing Success for Small Biz Owners
The Constant Contact Guide to Email Marketing provides small business owners with the essence of what it takes to bring solid results from email marketing. There’s no fluff, posturing or meaningless jabber. Eric Groves filled the pages of the Guide with practical, useful instructions and real-world examples any business owner can follow. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to develop even stronger relationships with their prospects and customers.
